He married a Lucinda Ford on March 11, 1855 in Hancock, Ohio. Believe she bore a son: Montgomery b.1856 and may have died as there is no further record of her.

1880 US Census: Martin-age 62, a widower, occupation-worked in coal manufacturing, was living with Henry Williams & family in LeRoy twp., Ingham, Michigan.
