Mrs. Lazure, 83, is Dead-Mrs. May Lazure Died At Her Home In Blair Last Week
A native of Washington County, Mrs. May Allen Lazure, 83, died at her home at 201 E. Grant St. after a lingering illness late Wednesday night.
Funeral services were held Saturday at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, the Rev. Samuel Elliston officiating. Burial was in the Allen Cemetery 10 miles south of Blair.
Survivors include two brothers, A. Grant Allen and Clyde M. Allen both of Blair, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The Bendorf Funeral Home was in charge of arrangement.
Mrs. Lazure was born Mae Allen, the daughter of William and Emily (Bottorff) Allen, the pioneer family south of Blair. Joseph Lazure and Minnie were married September 22, 1914, and for years resided in the Sunnyside area. Mr. Lazure died July 2, 1941.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Lazure had been active in the Washington County Historical Association, Wildewood Circle and the Washington County Pioneers and Old Settlers Association.
