HENRY FERSTER DEAD; SOLDIER OF THE WEST.
He arrived to the United States at age around 17 years, and within a couple of years, enlisted in the US Cavalry, in which he participated under General Sherman during the Civil War. He arrived in Omaha in 1866, and then served under General Cook, deployed to the western territories, and under Cook's command, the unit was sent as relief troops to Big Horn June 26, 1876 to aid General Custer, but arriving after the massacre.

"Three of the Ferster's children were born in the wild west in obscure posts and government forts, while his wife followed as closely as possible the tracks of her soldier husband and the command to which he belonged."
