ST. GEORGE - Clinton "Bob" Edgar Gentry, 88, passed away May 7, 2009. He was born July 3, 1920 in Panaca, Nevada, to Ernest T. and Jennie Lee Gentry. He married Katie Barlocker, June 12, 1946, in the St. George, Utah LDS Temple.

Clinton grew up in Panaca, NV, where he attended school, and was active in outdoor sports and activities. Subsequent to graduating high school, he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. Later, he was called to the United States Army at age 21, where he would eventually serve in World War II, specifically in the South Pacific. While serving his country, he was decorated with the Bronze Star Medal for going above the call of duty. At the conclusion of his military service, he returned to southern Nevada and southern Utah, married, moved to Enterprise, UT and eventually moved to St. George, UT in 1957. Throughout his life, he worked in various positions, notably for Zions First National Bank and the Washington County School District, as well as owning his own fireplace supply business. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, and especially traveling to various places which brought him many exciting experiences. Clinton was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, ordained to the office of a high priest, and has served in various positions of service. Clinton and Katie together served a mission for the LDS church in the Utah Provo mission, specifically in the St. George Temple Visitors Center and area historical sites.

Clinton is survived by his wife, Katie Barlocker Gentry, St. George, UT; daughter, Rosalie Gentry Sorenson (Douglas), St. George, UT; grandchildren Todd Sorenson, Las Vegas, NV; Barry Sorenson (Desiree), Las Vegas, NV; Shelbi Sorenson Heath (William), Taylorsville, UT; sisters Colleen Gentry Huntington (Jack), Las Vegas, NV; Ivy Gentry Summerfield, Las Vegas, NV; sister-in law Bea Gentry, St. George, UT; and 3 great grandchildren, Ashlynn K Sorenson, Kelton Douglas Heath, and Hudson B Sorenson, who were the joys of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Lyle Gentry Casterline, Alvin "Bud" Gentry, Gloria May Gentry Harris, Gerald Gentry, and Wilbert Gentry.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at the Red Hills 3rd Ward Chapel, 200 West 500 North, St. George, UT. Interment will take place in the Enterprise Cemetery at approximately 2:30 pm following the funeral services.
