FALLING OCTOBER LEAVES COVER THE GROUND AROUND THE HEADSTONE PLATFORMS OF TWO GRAVES IN THE ROBINSON-BOONE CEMETERY. PERHAPS THEY COULD BE THE GRAVES FOR JOHN BOONE AND HIS WIFE, ELIZABETH ALFORD.

OCTOBER 2001 LEAVES FALL ON THE FARM LAND OF ELIZABETH AND JOHN BOONE. AFTER THEIR MARRIAGE IN ROCKINGHAM CO., VA. THEY MOVED TO HILLSDALE, MONROE CO., VA. THEY MOVED FROM HILLSDALE TO ORGAN CAVE, THE IRISH CORNER DISTRICT IN GREENBRIER CO., VA. AFTER THEIR LAST CHILD WAS BORN IN 1810. JOHN DIED HERE IN 1835 AND ELIZABETH LIVED WITH THEIR SON, HENRY BOONE WHO LIVED NEAR BY. THEN SHE DIED IN 1841 WHILE VISITING HER SISTER IN MONROE CO.

THE ROAD DIVIDES THE BACK OF THE FARM HOUSE FROM THE ROBINSON-BOONE CEMETERY. THE SUN IS SETTING ON A COOL OCTOBER, 201 AFTERNOON.A BEAUTIFUL CEMETERY SETTING. AND WHILE I DISLIKE WHAT HAPPENED TO THE HEADSTONES, I APPRECIATE THAT THE CURRENT OWNERS TAKE GOOD CARE OF THE CEMETERY AREA NOW. THEY ARE BOONES. THEY APPRECIATE YOUR STOPPING AND MEETING THEM.

FENCED ROBINSON-BOONE CEMETERY. LOOKING ACROSS THE CEMETERY FROM THE BACK DOOR OF THE AJOINING FARM HOUSE. IN THE LOWER LEFT OF THE PHOTO IS THE 2ND OF TWO PONDS WHERE THE HEADSTONES WERE DISCARDED IN THE 1950S. BAD ACTION FOR A SELFISH REASON.
