The community was shocked Sunday when it was learned that Mrs. J. G. Ginn had passed away at her home east of town that day after a very brief illness.
Funeral services were held at the Barber Funeral home in Lenox Tuesday afternoon, May 7, and were conducted by the Rev. Arthur Mortenson of Villisca, a former Lenox pastor. Interment was made in the cemetery at Gravity.
Happy Frances Norris was born at Yates City, Illinois, July 6, 1885, and was the second child of Frank and Nellie Norris. She passed away at her home Sunday, May 5, at the age of 49 years, 9 months and 29 days.
In the early years of her life she professed her faith in Jesus uniting with the Calvary Methodist church, later transferring her letter to the First Presbyterian church of Lenox.
She was united in marriage August 27, 1903, with James G. Ginn and to them were born Frances Mildred Ginn and Ralph A. Ginn.
Mrs. Ginn will be greatly missed by her family, friends and neighbors as she had an unusually cheerful disposition, in accordance with her name of Happy.
She is survived by her loving husband and children, Mrs. Roy Schafer and husband of Lenox, Ralph Ginn and wife of Tarkio, Mo., her mother, Mrs. Nellie
Norris of Gravity and four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Hollembaeck of Sheridan, Wyo., Mrs. Mary Davis of Gravity, Iowa, Mrs. Leona Wallas of Gravity, Miss Evadine
Norris of Mt. Clemmens, Mich., and one brother, John Norris of Crescent City, Calif. There are also five grandchildren.
Mrs. Ginn had been in declining health for more than a year but the end came suddenly and unexpectedly as her health had seemed to be improving.
