Services for Jimmy Ray Bledsoe, 64, Martins Mill, were held Monday, November 16, at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel in Canton with Reverend Barry Taylor and Reverend Billy Buckingham officiating. Burial was in Holly Springs Cemetery at Martins Mill under direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Inc. of Canton. Mr. Bledsoe died November 14, 1998, in Athens.
He was born August 4, 1934, in Enloe, to Charlie R. and Cassandra Chambers Bledsoe. Mr. Bledsoe finished high school at Cooper in 1952. and attended University of Texas at Arlington.
He served in the Army and was a member of the Thomas B. Hunter Masonic Lodge No. 1356 and a former member of the Fairview Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, and currently was a member of the Martins Mill Baptist Church.
He was a retired supervisor at General Motors. He had been a resident of Martins Mill since 1980. Music was his hobby and he played with the Martins Mill Jammers.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Ray Bledsoe, Jr. in 1991.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia R. Bledsoe, Martins Mill; daughters and their husbands, Kathy and Joe Praytor, Grand Prairie, and Mary and David Woolverton, Como; three grandchildren, Jennifer Praytor, David Woolverton and Amanda Woolverton; brother, Royce Bledsoe, Azle; sisters, Lorette Pynes, Cunningham, Frances Sieminski, Grand Prairie, Yvonne Adair, Miami, Florida, Betty Hershour, Martins Mill, and Wanda Hamik, Amarillo.
Nephews served as pallbearers.
