Funeral Service: Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth.
Burial: will follow in the Forsyth Cemetery.

With persistence and fortitude, Earl Robert Cozzens age 72 of Forsyth, fought the battle with cancer for three years and two months. Earl passed away on December 24, 2008 at the Rosebud Health Care Center in Forsyth.

Earl was born the son of Robert and Edna (Danklefsen) Cozzens on March 26, 1936 in New Deal, Montana. He attended elementary school at the Duck Creek School and finished in Cohagen, graduating from Garfield High School in Jordan, Montana.

He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Dixie J. Pugh on November 18, 1961 at the First Methodist Church in Miles City, Montana. To this union three children, Michael, Macque and Mark were born.

As a young adult, Earl worked as a seismographer. Later he traveled South to do custom combining and then farming and ranching. He started his own trucking company which he operated for the past 32 years out of Forsyth.

In the past, he was a member of the Young Men's Club, a local CB Club and has been a board member for the Rosebud/Treasure County Fair since 1992. He enjoyed collecting and restoring old CASE tractors which he had accumulated over the years. Earl and Mark enjoyed doing the restoring together.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Dixie of 47 years; his children, Michael (Tammy) Cozzens of Laurel, MT, Macque (Mike) Bohleen of Thermopolis, WY, and Mark (Bobbi) Cozzens of Miles City, MT; his grandchildren, Skyler and Robert Cozzens, Brian and Joshua Bohleen, Erin, Austen, Rory and Lauren Cozzens; his sisters, Bernice Rooney, Dorthy Ley and Linda (Harvey) Wolff of Miles City; sister-in-laws, Jeanne (Berniel) Evenson of Great Falls, MT, Sherry (Dick) Thomas, Kitty Pugh and Toy Rolston of Billings, MT and numerous nieces an nephews.
