Elizabeth Johnson F. Hallman, age 97, the oldest living woman in Lansdale, died Friday at the home of William J. Fuss, at 511 Columbia Ave, Lansdale. She was born Feb 1, 1820, on Jacob Landis Farm in Skippack Twp, daughter of Joseph and Magdalena Bractheis(ei), She married Dec 25, 1842 to Henry Fuss and 8 children were born of three are living. In 1861 Mr. Fuss died and four years later she married Abraham Hallman who died in 1877. For the next twenty years she lived with her brother William in Lansdale who died in 1897.
Mrs. Hallman died from senility and had suffered from no specific disorder, she had been in bed about eight weeks and until the last illness retained her facilities to a remarkable degree despite her age. she was fond of reading and sewing, Last winter she made about a score of handkerchiefs for use for Foreign Missionaries _____.
Beside the son with whom she lived Mrs. Hallman leaves two other children Joseph Fuss of Marro, New Mexico and Mrs. William Fry of Germantown.
A funeral took place last Wednesday forenoon at the home on Columbia Ave, Rev Jacob Clemens Officiating followed by a services at the Reformed Church in Skippack where she was a member. Rev Clapp of Collegeville Officiating. Burial was in Skippack Mennonite Cemetery
