Edward Havel, son of Wesley and Mary Havel, was born August 20, 1882 near Cuba, Kan., and died November 25, 1967 at the Broadstone Memorial hospital in Superior, Neb., at the age of 85 years, three months and five days.
He attended school around the Cuba community and his entire life was spent in Republic county. In 1904 he was united in marriage to Emma Keprta, to which union two sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife in 1925 and five brothers.
Survivors include his sons, Ben F. Havel of Omaha and Emil W. Havel of Belleville; one brother, Milek of Cuba; one sister, Mrs. Joseph Nesvarba of Cuba, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held November 27 at the Bachelor-
Faulkner-Dart Memorial Chapel of Belleville with Rev. Ralph Mitchell officiating. Interment was in Kopsa cemetery.
