Teacher, Educator. Died on his knees in prayer in this cemetery. His grave is marked by a small stone that reads "1771 ChDScM" in crude etchings. A larger memorial was placed nearby in the cemetery to honor this great writer, teacher. Christopher Dock, "Schulmeister an der Schipbach" who died in 1771 after a long teaching career among the rural Mennonites, and for whom a high school, founded in the 1950's, had been named.

In 1750, Dock wrote School Management, one of the earliest treatises on pedagogy in this country.
