FOREST GROVE, Or., May 23 - James Taylor Ranes, a pioneer of 1854, was buried in the Gales Creek Cemetery today. He was born in Barthaloma County, Indiana, in 1842, and crossed the plains to Oregon 46 years ago. He was one of Washington County's most respected citizens, and industrious and well-to-do farmer.
