During WWII she lived with windowed brother Glen #30562442 in Topeka, KS on the farm and took care of her young son Larry and two girls of Glen's while Leland served overseas during WWII. She and Leland moved to Hutchinson in 1946 and lived her whole life. She was a very active life member of First Christian Church. She lead the church women in baking bread for many throughout her years of community service.
