Born on June 21, 1895 on the pioneer farm of his parents near (old) Strawn, Coffey County, Kansas. He is the first son of Ivy and Eliza (Hamman) Allen. Farmer and Educator, graduated in 1920 from Kansas State(Agricultural)University and served in the ARMY ordnance during WW1 stateside. Adult life he was a school teacher and principle in Meridan Kansas, later he became a educator, principle and later school board member in the Seamon school district in North Topeka, KS. He also continued to farm near the Kansas River. The family farm was flooded in June of 1951. He married Velma Fischer on Sept 2, 1923 in Bulington KS and they had three children, a son Glen and daughters Maxine and Reta. She died shortly following childbirth of thier daughter. He later married Mae Gayhart in July 7,1956 in Topeka, KS. An active member in the Christian Church all of his life. He died in Topeka, Ks on Oct 26, 1985 at 89.
