Message from Jerry Brown,
I was just up to Trenton, Ontario whose library houses the Ontario Genealogical Society materials for that region (the Quinte branch of the OGS). They have a transcription for the Marmora Common Cemetery listing an interment for "G. H. Bowman died January 1, 1886 aged 27 years" and list the plot as in "D-8-10". I know D is the section but checked all through the area where rows 8 and 10 would be and cannot find a stone.
The transcriber was an Ann Rowe with a phone number of 705-632-0188. I don't know whether the record came from an original grave stone which is now buried or (more likely) a sexton's record. Either way, I am sure this is our Charles H. Bowman, even though ther record says "G". I don't know what to think of the death date either. I have always had 1885. Also "aged 27" is unlikely or the 1881 census was wildly off.
