Herbert Phillips 69, a retired railroad employee, sufffered a stroke at his home and died later that day in Hills and Dales General Hospital, Cass City.

Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Phillips, he was born in Novesta Township July 2, 1892. In 1930 he married Miss Iva Stephens. Surviving at the time of death were his wife Iva, son Charles, daughter Ruth Freeman, brother Melvin and brother-in-law Herman Rock.
