Hudson Blankenship was the son of John and Elizabeth SHEEKS Blankenship. Hudson married Nancy HELM March 5, 1846 in Russell County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Bartholomew and Mary A. BELK Helms. Her parents sold land on Crocus Creek in 1858 to Hudson and Nancy Blankenship. Records indicate Hudson and Nancy were buried in Helm Cemetery in Russell County, KY. on property of Herbert Loy on KY HWY 55. Hudson was a brother to my great-grandfather- Cornelius Blankenship who born in Swanpond Bottom ,KY. and migrated to Belle Plaine, Kansas.

DENMARK NEWS

On the 1st day of February 1911 at 10 p.m. the spirit of Uncle Hudson Blankenship, took its flight to the God who gave it. Uncle Hudson was a fine old gentleman and liked by all that knew him. We regret very much to give him up, but Gods will be done. We hope to meet him again where there will be no more parting.

Mr. Hudson Blankenship, who is known to a great many people in Adair county, is in his usual health. He is now quite an old man, and being one of the best citizens of Russell county, his company is much sought, as he is a very sensible man, who reads a great deal, and is capable of giving much wholesome advice. He is now about 78 years old and if he lives he will be at the polls on election day, vote Democratic, a laudible habit he fell into when he reached his majority, and which he has kept up ever since.

Mr. Frank Blankenship, who is an assistant cashier of one of the largest banks in Dallas, Texas, a very elegant young man, a son of Mr. Bart Blankenship, who is known to many of our citizens, was in Columbia Sunday, enroute home from a visit to his grandfather, Mr. Hudson Blankenship, Denmark, KY.

Mr. Hudson Blankenship, on February 28th, celebrated his 86th birthday. There being present of relatives and friends. Ollie Buchanan abd wife, Elmer Rippetoe and wife, Ell McFarland and wife, Charlie Coffey and wife, Mr. Alva McFArland, and the Misses Jessie and Mary Vaughan. The culinary department was up-to-date, the table groaning under a load of the fat of the land. Uncle Hut is vigorous and is promised a goodly number of years yet.
