Crash Injuries Prove Fatal To Greentown Woman

A Greentown woman died Saturday night as a result of injuries suffered in a one car accident Thursday afternoon.

Mrs. Leona Faye Boxell, 57, died in Whitley County Memorial Hospital in Columbia City where she was taken after her car hit a culvert and overturned on U.S. 30, five miles west of Columbia City.

There were no witnesses to the accident, and Mrs. Boxell never regained consciousness.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Greentown Wesleyan Methodist Church of which she was a member. The Rev. L.E. Crow will officiate.

Friends may call at the Mast and Pickett Funeral Home, Greentown, until noon Tuesday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the service. Burial will be in Jones Cemetery, Wells County.

Mrs. Boxell was born Jan. 22, 1901, in Wells County, and was raised by her grandmother, Mrs. Nancy Derry. She ws married to Glen Boxell, Dec 29, 1923 and the couple moved ot Greentown in 1939.

Surviving with the husband are a brother, Ray Derry of Cincinnati, O.; and four half-brothers, Guy Huffman of Cold Water, Mich., Von Huffman of Washington, Delmer Huffman of Van Burean, and Glen Asby of Fort Wayn. A half-sister, Nova Huffman, is deceased.
