Mrs. Sylvester Huffman Passes Away Sunday
Local Woman Dies At County Hospital-Funeral Tuesday
Mrs. Sylvester Huffman, 329 North Oak street passed away at the Wells county hospital at 6:15 o'clock Sunday morning, death being due to complications resulting from a tumor.
She underwent an operation at the hospital a week ago today, and had been in a critical condition until the time of her death.
She was born in Wells county on January 30, 1883, a daughter of James and Nancy Kingen Derry, and had lived in Wells county her entire life. She was united in marriage to Sylvester Huffman on November 14, 1903, and had been a resident of this city since that time.
The deceased is survived by the husband and seven children. Mrs. Glen L. Boxell of Ft. Wayne, Mrs. John King of Bluffton; Ray Derry, of Ft. Wayne, Glen Ashby, Delmer Huffman, Vaughn Huffman and Guy Huffman, all of Bluffton. One sister, Mrs. Geo. Helms, and three brothers, S. K. Derry, of Och. Oklahoma, John Derry, of Warren, and Frank Derry, of Mt. Zion, also survive. Two grandchildren, Robert King and Tommy Lee Huffman, survive.
Funeral services will be held at the South Liberty Christian church at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with burial at the Jones Cemetery.
