Burial is not currently visible, but John Phillip Hake donated the land for this cemetery and the following was stated in a local paper: "Prior to 1847 Phillip Hake conceived the idea of a cemetery for this family & it's friends & accordingly donated ground & made arrangements for the Hake Cemetery. The donor now rests at a place of honor high on the knoll at the north end of the grounds. From the top of this knoll the cities of Ft. Atkinson & Jefferson are plainly visible."
