SEYMOUR -- JoAnn Ponder Kriigel, 68, of Sheridan, Ark., died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock, Ark.

Mrs. Kriigel lived all her life in Seymour until moving to Arkansas in 1997. She retired from Dolly Madison in Columbus, was a member of New Hope Methodist Church in Sheridan and a former member of Central Christian Church in Seymour.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Voss & Sons Funeral Service with the Rev. Sam Davenport officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to New Hope Methodist Church in Sheridan, the American Cancer Society or Central Christian Church.

Mrs. Kriigel was born in Seymour Oct. 18, 1934, the daughter of Clarence and Nellie Sturman Findley. She married Marion Ponder Oct. 30, 1953, at Louisville, Miss., and Martin Kriigel March 25, 2000, at Sheridan.

Survivors include her second husband; sons, Tom Ponder of Sheridan and Larry Ponder of Rockwell, Texas; daughters, Deni Hurt and Patty Hougland, both of Seymour; a stepdaughter, Becky Hood of Malvern, Ark.; a stepson, James Kriigel of Malvern; sisters, Pearl Fletcher of Sheridan and Carleen Anderson of Seymour; brothers, Clarence Findley of Gerald, Mo., and George Findley of Greenwood; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband on Feb. 28, 1998; a grandson, Brandon Lee Ponder; a brother, Joe Findley; and a sister, Delores Abrell.
