Fred Monroe, 56, of Springfield died at 5 a.m. Sunday at St. John's Hospital North. He was born in Louisana on March 16, 1931, the son of Sim and Mary Woods Monroe.
He is survived by a sister, Mosetta Dixon of Springfield.
Services at Bisch Memorial Home. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
