Dr. John Willis Conley Bowman died at the King's Daughters Hospital, August 13, 1941. Dr. Bowman was 63 years of age and had been practicing medicine for about 32 years. He began his practice at Perch, on Fair River, going from there to Bogue Chitto. He has been in bad health for the past three years and unable to keep up his practices. He suffered a stroke while up town and was rushed to the hospital where he died about five or six hours later, never regaining consciousness. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Laura C. Bowman, one son, Clifton, two daughters, Mrs. Clifton Roberts and Miss Mary Nell Bowman.
