HEDLEY, June 15 (Spl). - Funeral services for John Mallard Whittington, 89, a resident of the Panhandle since 1913, were held Sunday afternoon in First Methodist Church here. He was buried in Citizens Cemetery at Clarendon.

Whitting [sic], a retired farmer, died Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. G.E. Kinslow with whom he had made his home for many years.

He was born in Arkansas and came to Texas in the early 1880s.

Survivors include his daughter; three sons, C.B. of Amarillo, H.B. of Hereford and O.L. Whittington of Long Beach, Cal., and a sister, Mrs. J.B. Garrett of Ardmore, Okla.
