Eleanor was the daughter of William and Annis (Cooley) Darr. While attending Bailes Beauty School in Jackson, Eleanor met and then married Paul W. Southworth on September 11, 1937. They shared 67 years of marriage before Paul's death. Besides being a beautician, Eleanor worked at Sparton Electronics and Western Stamping. She also enjoyed many other activities including gardening, sewing and teaching classes in china painting and porcelain doll making. While a resident at the Odd Fellow and Rebekah Home, Eleanor's dolls were displayed for all to enjoy.
