Funeral for Charlotte York Kaulaity, 57, Lawton will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Comanche Nation Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Willie Jack Doyeto and the Rev. Frank Kauauquo officiating.

Mrs. Kaulaity died Sunday, May 10, 2009, at a Lawton hospital.

Burial will be in the Elk Creek Kiowa-Comanche-Apache Cemetery.

There will be no viewing or visitation at the funeral home.

She was born Dec. 22, 1951, in the Army Hospital of Camp Chaffee, Ark., to Doyeto and Lee York Jr. She lived in Tacoma, Wash., Killeen, Texas, and Hobart, while her dad served in the Army and moved to Lawton. She received her Licensed Practical Nurse Certification from Sequoyah Nursing School in Fayetteville, Ark., and attended the University of Arkansas while employed as an LPN. She then moved back to Oklahoma and worked in MacAlester, Mountain View and Lawton as an LPN. On April 9, 1975, she married Henry Joseph Kaulaity in Lawton. They lived in Mountain View and later moved to Lawton. She was of non-denominational faith and a member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, reading, cooking, playing piano, genealogy and being with her family.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; her father, Lee York, Jr., Mountain View; one daughter: Ruth Yvonne Kaulaity,. Lawton; two sons: William Lee Kaulaity, Lawton; and Henry Joseph Kaulaity, Jr. and wife, Lisa, Arizona; one granddaughter: Arianna Leah Kaulaity, Lawton; two grandsons: Orlando Joseph Kaulaity, Lawton; and Sebastian Michael Kaulaity, Arizona; six sisters: Jackie York Newton and Kathy Jarnigan, both of Hobart; Virgie Purifoy and husband, Lawrence, Lawton; Sandra K. York, Missouri; Beth Nordeng and husband, Keith, Pennsylvania; and Mildred Alisa and husband, Lyon, Oklahoma City; four brothers: Daniel Lee York, Ohio; Morris York, Oklahoma City; David York, Mountain View; and Terrance York and wife, Cindy, Oklahoma City; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother; maternal grandparents, Frank and Grace Odlepauh Doyeto; and paternal grandparents, Lee, Sr. and Virgie Palmer York.
