Mrs. Stakes was born February 27, 1916 in Branch, LA. She was raised in Crowley, LA and Nome, TX and lived most of her adult life in the Lake Charles area. Mrs. Stakes was a very faithful and loving Christian woman who was totally devoted to her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister whom always put others needs and happiness before her own.
She and her husband were for several years, the owners of the former Moss Bluff Drive-In. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff.
She was survived by two daughters, three sons, six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, thirteen step-great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, one brother, and a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Lloyd Glen Stakes, Sr; her parents, William and Caroline Hanks Richard; a great-grandson, Brannon Kuhlthau; siblings, Pearlie Smith, Ernest, Milard, Newitt, Luther, Millard and Forrest Richard.
