Francesco Trani, age 24, his wife Catarina Trani age 24, and his brother Antonio Trani age 22 arrived in NY from Naples, Campania, Italy on the ship America on May 12, 1911. Catarina states she was married so the story we have heard about a marriage by proxy is probably wrong. The alternate story about Francesco going back to Italy is more the likely the case and they returned to America together along with Francesco's brother Antonio who stayed all his life in New Jeresey.

Per 1930 census, came to America the first time in 1906, returned to Italy and came back in 1911
