Guy Edward Blaylock, 87, died May 4, 2009, at a local nursing home.Graveside service is 2 p.m. Sunday, May 10, at Greenwood Community Cemetery in Parker County.He was born Nov. 22, 1921, in Weatherford, Texas, the son of Sidney Franklin and Clara Belle (Berkley) Blaylock. He was a proud veteran of World War II, serving as a medical corpsman and ambulance driver in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Upon his return from the war, Guy married Doris Yvonne Copeland on Oct. 16, 1945, in Parker County, Texas. He was a welder by trade and spent his life in the areas of Parker and Palo Pinto counties.Guy is survived by his wife, Yvonne, of Mineral Wells; sisters, Adina Jobe of Millsap, and Mary Abner of Cleveland, Ohio; sister-in-law, Audine Stoneman of Weatherford; sons, James and Sue Blaylock of Mineral Wells, Charles and Sheri Blaylock of Mineral Wells, and Floyd and Melissa Blaylock of Pleasant Valley, Texas; daughter, Dorothy and husband, Dale, Ashlock of Gainesville, Texas; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and other family and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Woodrow and Walton Blaylock; sister, Bessie Blaylock; infant daughter, Peggy Lou Blaylock; and son, Donald Franklin Blaylock.
