Services for Edna Ramsey, 90, Plainfield, were Saturday, August 22, in Hall-Baker-Litke Funeral Home, Plainfield. Rev Keith Kirk officiated, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. She was born March 10, 1902 in Kansas [see note]. In 1936, she married Herman W. Ramsey and he preceded her in death in 1970. Mrs. Ramsey, who died Thursday, August 20 in Medco Nursing Home, Danville, had been an elementary art teacher for over 40 years, having taught in the Huntington, Garrett, Aurora and Indianapolis school systems before retiring. She was a member of Plainfield Friends Meeting and the Plainfield Rebekah Lodge. Surviving are several cousins.
There is a cenotaph for her in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Plainfield, Indiana.

Her obituary indicates she was born in Kansas. More records show Oklahoma. Specifically, her birth is indicated as Pond Creek on a border crossing report from July 31, 1931 which correctly shows her date of birth and local address in Indianapolis.
