UNION - Services for Mr. L.D. "Duvall" Rigdon will be held today at 3 p.m. at Pinckney Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery with the Revs. Kevin Meador and Mike Thompson officiating. Milling Funeral Home of Union is in charge of the arrangements. Mr.Rigdon, 80, of Union, passed away Friday, May 1, 2009 at St. Dominic¹s Hospital. He was a member of Pinckney Baptist Church and the Pinckney Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mrs. Roberta Rigdon; two daughters, Brenda Pierce and her husband, Earl, of Union; Betty Horton and her husband, Eddie, of Spring Hill, Tenn.; two sons, Berwyn Rigdon and his wife, Cynthia, of Union and Lenon Rigdon and his wife, Christine, of Union: three sisters, Verna McDade of Nashville, Tenn., Lavonia Russell of Little Rock, and Alfa Gilmore; two brothers, Denver Rigdon of Union, and Darwin Rigdon of Pearl; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Alisa Rigdon, and two sisters. Pallbearers are Randy Harvey, Johnny McMullan, Perry Luke, Terry Tullos, Harry Chamblee, and Tommy Tucker. Honorary Pallbearers are the Men's Sunday School Class of Pinckney Baptist Church and Alvin Moore.
