Maggie's 1st husband, John Calvin Layman, died between 1905-10; his father, William Chapman Layman is buried in the Green Layman Cemetery in Indian Valley, Floyd Co, where he was living with a son at the time of his death in 1910; mother Nancy Evaline Taylor Layman is buried in the Ashworth Cemetery in Pulaski Co where she was living at the time of her death in 1899. Since John was living in Pulaski Co at the time of his death, he could possibly be buried in Ashworth, or in the Grantham Family Cemetery with Maggie's grandparents. No grave marker has been found in either place.

On the 1910 Census, Maggie is listed as the mother of 5/2 living. She was living in Indiana when some of those children were born/died.

Maggie's 2nd husband Gilbert Walker Akers is buried with his 1st wife in Wise Co VA.
