Peter Frahm was buried Monday. The village was greatly shocked last Friday afternoon when it became known that Peter Frahm, 81 year old resident of this village had passed away at this home here, a suicide. Mr. Frahm had been in failing health for some time and worry and illness caused him to take his own life.
Peter Frahm was born at Busdoft, Germany, July 2, 1853. He grew to manhood in his native land and there married Katherine Matzen. In 1883 the family immigrated to the U.S.A. on the ship named Vandalia from Hamburg , Germany.
To this union five children were born, three boys and two girls. One son, John Frahm, lives at Wausau, Wisconsin, and he came here immediately upon word of his father's passing. The other children were unable to attend the service.
The Frahm family came to America over fifty years ago and for many years made their home on an Iowa farm. Mrs. Frahm passed away 48 years ago.
About twenty three years ago, Mr. Frahm came to North Branch and purchased a farm just east of the village. He made his home there until about three years ago when he moved into a small home in the village. At death he was 81 years, I month and 29 days old.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday afternoon of this week from the Satterstrom-Erickson funeral chapel with the Rev. Vendel Olson of the Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Music and singing was furnished by Mr. E. Schyttner. Interment was in the Trinity Cemetery.
Pallbearers were friends and neighbors of the deceased, namely George Schmidt, Alfred W. Olson, Richard Stream, Alfred Swedin, Albin Carlson, Nels Dahlman.
