ATCHISON -- Lucy Petesch, 80, Atchison, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999, at her home.
Mrs. Petesch was a bar tacker for Saunder's Manufacturing Co. in Atchison for more than 30 years before she retired in 1984. She and her husband also raised livestock and farmed.
She was born Dec. 19, 1918, on a farm near Oak Mills, the daughter of Adam and Lillie Jones Bluma. She attended school at Oak Mills. Mrs. Petesch was a former member of St. John's Catholic Church at Doniphan and a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church at Atchison.
She married John Frederick Petesch on Sept. 16, 1935, at Leavenworth. He died July 28, 1986.
Mrs. Petesch also was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Dean Petesch and Kenneth Petesch, and a daughter, Shirley Clark.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis Petesch, Oskaloosa, and John Petesch, Atchison; two daughters, Connie Beeson and Rose Wigley, both of Atchison; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home in Atchison.
Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Atchison.
Relatives and friends will meet from 9:30 a.m. to service time Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Atchison Humane Society or to the Atchison County Retarded Citizens Association and sent in care of the funeral home.
