FORMER BRUNSWICK RESIDENT PASSES AWAY

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 11 at Brunswick for Mrs. J.E. Weaver of Neligh, who passed away at the Neligh hospital, January 8, after suffering a stroke sometime Saturday night, Jan. 5, at the age of 85.

The Rev. Walter Rundin of Wahoo, her pastor and friend for 49 years, had charge of the services with the Rev. Royal Shepard of Neligh assisting. Burial was in the Brunswick Cemetery beside her husband.

Lettie Weaver, daughter of Nathan and Jane Forbes, was born, Feb. 14, 1871 at Lamolle, Ia. In 1881, her parents homesteaded one mile north of Copenhagen.

On Dec. 3, 1889, she was united in marriage to J.E. Weaver. Three sons and four daughters were born to them. On son, Roy, passed away in California some years back.

The surviving children are Sadie Burton of Los Angeles, Calif., Jennie Clark of Norfolk, Lona Jackson of Wahoo, Fern Baird of Plainview, Lloyd Weaver of Brunswick and Melbourn Weaver of Cheyenne, Wyo.

She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren and two half brothers, Russell Forbes of Plainview and Leonard Forbes of Monnette, Mo.

Mr. Weaver died, Jan. 23, 1946. A brother, Walter Forbes also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Weaver was a charter member of the Brunswick Congregational Church.

During the first years of their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Weaver and four of their children went by train and wagon to Portland, Ore., where they lived two years.

In 1901, they bought a farm five miles southwest of Brunswick, where they lived until Mr. Weaver's death.

A year after his death, Mrs. Weaver sold the farm and bought a home in Neligh, where she lived until her death.
