|I live in the small village of Winnetoon, NE., population 70. During the winter hours, I spend my time researching family. My families are Ballou, Davidson, Fredrickson, Greggers, Harper, Hopkins, Hubbard, Neuhaus, Oleson, Reynolds, Seltz, Stone, Ward.|
If you need family info or obits from early Creighton, Nebraska newspapers 1901 thru 1913, I may be able to help. Have saved all obits I found. Some weeks are missing.
I also have access to most of the Creighton, Knox County, Nebraska newspapers from 1928 to current.
Except for some gravestones done by others, I have photographed the following Knox county cemeteries...
St. Ludger Cemeteries at Creighton
St. Wenceslaus Cemeteries at Verdigre
Morrillville Cemetery between Center & Bloomfield
Ponca Indian Cemetery at Niobrara
Ponca Valley Cemetery at Verdel
Millerboro Cemetery in Antelope county.
There may be some recent burials that are not done, plus a few I could not find.

I just want to thank you for everything you do for this site and especially the photos you have of my dad and my brother's stone. You got in a small detail that when I saw it I cried. I live in Arizona and cant visit them as often as I would like. In the photo of my dad's you even mentioned coins on the stone and being moved, and they show up clearly on my brother's. My siblings, my nieces and nephews and now even their kids, know that its a fun tradition we all do...leaving coins when we go to visit. Its something little, but thank you for posting photos WITH the coins. Made me feel like I was back home :)

Thanks for adding the gravestone photos for Jacob Peniska and Jennie Peniska. They are my great grandparents. I am 95% sure of that. I am trying to find if Jacob was ever known as Jack Peniska. Much of the information I have seems to match that Jacob and Jack may have been the same. Pretty sure that Jennie was Jack/Jacob's wife. Sorry about the previous blank message. I hit enter by mistake. I am planning on going to the Ponca Nation in Nebraska to see if I can find out if they have any records regarding Jack and Jacob being the same man. My information also indicates that Jennie was shortened from Genevieve. Do you have access to obits for Jacob and Jennie? The Findagrave references are: 37365106 and 37365122. Again, thank you.
