Born in Cincinnati, Carrie Stienecker was the oldest child of Hermann Ernst and Christine Elsabein Louise (Schoppenhorst) Stienecker. Her mother, Christine, was born in Ladbergen, Westphalia, Germany, and immigrated with her father and family in 1844 on ship Ellen Brooks. Christine Schoppenhorst and a brother settled in Cincinnati where she married Ernst Stienecker 06 May 1847; Christine was referred to as Louise in Cincinnati records.

Carrie Stienecker married George Helde 20 Apr 1865 in Hamilton County, OH. Sometime after 1870 George and his brother Jacob headed out to the Territory of New Mexico. Carrie and the children joined him after 1880. Carrie Helde died in Grant County, NM, and was buried in Central City Cemetery, Silver City. This cemetery is now Santa Clara Cemetery, Municipality of Village of Santa Clara, Grant County, NM. Apparently George Helde died sometime after 1920 for he was living with daughter Carrie Zornes in 1920. He was probably buried in Santa Clara Cemetery, but this remains speculative.

Fact and date of Stienecker-Helde marriage and burial information of Central City Cemetery, Silver City, for Carrie Helde were kindly provided by Deborah Druschel Guida. Apparently Helde-Stienecker descendant Navee (Newby) Pohlsander and Joan Perry Helde were also sources.

A memorial to grandson Thomas T. Helde appears on line in column of the March 2004 Perspectives:
