LeRoy R. McCurdy, 81, of Derry died Saturday, July 13, 2002 at Latrobe Area Hospital.
Mr. McCurdy was born July 3, 1921 in Millwood Shaft, Derry Township, son of the late Homer and Elizabeth Elwood McCurdy. He was a member of New Derry United Methodist Church and an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Germany.

He was a 23 year employee of the Derry sewage plant, and a lifetime member of the Derry VFW and American Legion. He loved music and working wood with his hands.

Survivors include his wife Jean; sons Carl and wife Joan, Loyalhanna, and Richard and wife Candace, Derry;

Also surviving are four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; his brother Clarence "Bud," of Kernersville, N.C.; two sisters Mrs. Steve (Rose) Moyer of Superior and Sadie Ankney of Jeannette.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Homer, Scott, Charles, Lawrence and Robert, and two sisters, Irene Garris and Isabelle Todd.

Services were held Tuesday at McCabe Funeral Home, Derry, with interment in Coles Cemetery, Derry.
