Juanita K. Ward, 71, of Arlington, died Tuesday morning, May 30, 1989 in Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield.
Born August 2, 1917 Shelby County, she was the daughter of Harvey Ray Anderson Sr. and Lena Mae McMichael. She was married May 2, 1946 to Wilburn J. Ward, who died Jan. 31, 1989. A1935 Morristown High School graduate, she had lived in the Morristown and Greenfield areas before moving to Arlington, where she resided for 40 years. She had operated the Arlington Cafe in 1973 and 1974, worked at the Morristown Nursing Home from 1974-77, and from 1977 until she retired in May, 1986, she was the cafeteria manager at Arlington School. She was a member of the Blue River Wesleyan Church and the Merry Makers Club.
Survivors include three sons, Max Lane, Dale Allen, and Barry Neal, all of the Arlington area; one brother, Harvey Ray Anderson Jr. of Manilla; one sister, Mrs. E. J. (Virginia) Bennett of Roswell, New Mexico; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Bruce.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Moster and Cox Mortuary in Rushville with the Reverend Clifton Ashlock and Roger Abraham officiating. Burial will be in Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Visitation hours are 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday in the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
