The only mention of Alexander Babel comes from a transcription of the records of the First Protestant Church in New Braunfels, where he is listed as a child of Amandus and Amalia Seiffert Babel. The same source states that Amandus and Amalia were married in Germany in 1851, but Guadalupe County, Texas Marriage Book 1 states they were married in Guadalupe County on 01 Jul 1854.
In any case, Alexander apparently met his death when he drowned in the Guadalupe River on 29 Apr 1860. His burial location is unknown.
