Mrs.Eliza McCalla/2nd daughter of Rev. John Todd of Virginia/Relicit of Rev. Dr. McCalla/8 June 1758 - 3 November 1809 (info found on page 95 of "Charleston County, South Carolina Cemetery Inscriptions")

(special thanks to Bob Kauffman for the following) M. Eliza McCalla (Beheld?) of the late Rev. D. McCalla and 2nd daughter of the late Rev. John Todd of Virginia was born on the 8th of June 1758 and died the 5th of Nov. 1809. Aged 51 yrs. 4 mo. and 26 days. In the character of this amiable lady simplicity of manners warmth of affection benevolence of heart and undissembled piety shone conspicuous. "My flesh shall slumber in the ground till the last trumpets joyful sound then burst the Chains with sweet surprise and in my Saviors Image rise."

(1) Eliza's epitaph is an excerpt of a hymn by Isaac Watts.
