Melvin Troup Sr., 73, of 1900 Greenbriar Road, York, died Monday at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Virginia Troup.
The services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, 305 W. Front St., Lewisberry. Burial will be in Parkville Cemetery. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Troup was born April 26, 1920, in York. He was the son of the late Jacob Troup and Dora (Sturgis) Troup.
He was a retired construction worker.
Mr. Troup is survived by three sons, Richard Troup of Texas, Jeffery Troup and Melvin Troup Jr., both of Etters; seven daughters, Charlene Glass, Sandy Archer and Donna Edleblute, all of York Haven, Patricia Crone and Linda Lentz, both of Manchester, Shirley Weisensale, of Mount Wolf, and Deborah Lentz of Lewisberry; 23 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Carrie Sander of Strinestown, and Edna Krone of Dillsburg.
Officiating at the services will be the rev. Clyde Michner, pastor of Red Land Valley Brethren in Christ Church. 01-31-94
