FARIBAULT JOURNAL, MAY 24, 1934 PAGE 1 DUNDAS POSTMISTRESS PASSES AWAY SUNDAY. HARRIET ABIGAIL FREEMAN, was born ON A FARM JUST SOUTH OF DUNDAS ON OCTOBER 11, 1871. AT THE AGE OF ONE YEAR SHE MOVED TO THE VILLAGE WITH HER PARENTS, Samuel Freeman and Mathilda Bates Stevens and she spent entire life her with the exception of four years, from 1888 until 1893 when she visited relative at Winthrop, Maine. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist church, where she was organist for a number of years. She was also an active member of the M.E. Sunday School, the Ladies Aid Society and the W.C.T.U. She belonged to both Rebakah and Yoeman ledges. From 1901 until 1915 she worked as clerk in the Post Office. In 1915 she was appointed the Dundas Post Mastership and has filled that position until the time of her death which occured Sunday morning, May 29, at four o'clock, from heart trouble. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church on Tuesday afternoon, the Rev A.S. Earl officiating. Mrs. J.A.DeMann and Miss Mathilda Hummel sang three hymns during the ceremony and burial was made in Groveland cemetery. The pallbearers were G.C. Babcock, Vern Babcock, F.D.Baker, Charles Meinke, Lee Sloan, Imes Cunningham. Surviving Miss Freeman are a half-sister Miss Julia Stevens, a Half-brohter Oscar Freeman and one brother Frank Freeman, two nieces and 8 nephews, besides a large number of friends.
