4/1/1940- The Chickasha Daily Express:
Dewey Harold Adams, 33, 710 S. 5th Street, was the victim of an accident at 12th Street & Minnesota Ave Sunday night shortly after 6:00, when the truck in which he and 3 others were riding, overturned. Shifting weight in a partially filled 1,000 gallon water tank on the flat-bed truck was believed to have caused the truck to overturn, the investigators said. The truck was driven by James Clay Sawyer, 18. Sawyer and the 2 riding in the cab, escaped injury. Sawyer was driving west on Minnesota and was making a left turn on 12th, when the truck overturned.
Services are to be conducted, for Adams, by Rev W.A. Criswell, from the Chickasha funeral home chapel Tuesday afternoon, followed by burial at Tuttle. Adams leaves his mother, Mrs J.T. Adams and 2 brothers, Roosevelt & Doyle, all of the home address here.
