Edith was lovingly nicknamed "Peepsie" and everyone called her by that all her life. I think most people didn't even know her real name.
She was a devoted wife, loving Mother,
Grandmother, and Aunt.
Peepsie was a hairdresser and worked for most of her life. I think because of her profession she must have known half the town of Waco and everyone liked her!
Obituary:
MAXEY, EDITH Edith Peepsie Maxey, age 81, of Waco, died Thursday, August 16, 2001 at a local nursing home. Graveside services will be 3:00PM Friday, August 17th at Waco Memorial Park with Rev. Bill Agee officiating. Visitation with the family will be 10:00 AM-12:00 Noon Friday at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Maxie was born December 31, 1919 in Golinda. She attended school in Golinda. She married Johnny Earl Maxey, Jr. in December 1935. He preceded her in death September 19, 1972. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Ann Maresh February 16, 2001. Mrs. Maxie was employed as a hairdresser in Waco for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Waco. Survivors include: Son-in-law: Bill Maresh Grandchildren: Michael Ann Miller and Melissa Lynn Maresh all of Waco Great grandchildren: Blake William Miller and Brooke Holland Miller Sisters: Frances Pearl Lambert of Garden Grove, CA Bonnie Jean Walker of Waco Brother: William Horace Jones of Wichita Falls Niece: Kathy Rizzo of Danton, NV Nephew: Terry Walker of Waco Great niece: Sheri Eddins of Lorena Honorary pallbearers are Tim Sherry, Bill Miller, Blake Miller, Steve Gengo and Greg Holland.
