Everett L. Sanderson, 38, a Salinas freight c o m p a n y employee, drowned Thursday in Anderson Reservoir while his wife and three teen age sons stood helplessly on shore.
Sanderson had taken a small aluminum motorboat out on the Reservoir to do some fishing. His wife and their three sons, aged 13 to IT, waited on shore Mrs. Sanderson said that when she looked up, her husband had fallen from the still running boat, which was describing a series of circles halfway across the lake.
Deputy Hugh Williams said that Sanderson, a Navy veteran and strong swimmer, was weighted down by two pairs of 11 outers two shirts and heavy shoes. He said the boat may have backed over him as it circled.
