Theresia and her sister Rosa Zipfel moved to America with their aunt Elizabeth Herz neè Zipfel (Joseph Zipfel's sister). Elisabeth's family consisted of herself, her husband Fridolin Herz and son Anton Herz (Anthony Heart). They travelled on the ship "Wm. Frothingham" which departed from Le Havre, France and arrived at the port of New York on 26 May 1857.

In or around 1859 Theresia married to Ludwig "Louis" Alberti, born in the Province of Nassau, Germany. They raised up 4 children, all of them born in Ohio. According to the 1900 US Federal Census Theresia gave birth to 4 more children who died prior to 1900.

Obituary from „The Clyde Enterprise", 11 Nov 1915:

Mrs. Theresa Alberti, one of Clyde's pioneer residents, died at 4:30 yesterday at the home of her daughter Mrs. Louis Krebs on North Main street, at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 24 days.
Deceased was a native of Baden, Germany and was born August 17, 1835, being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zipfel. When twenty years of age she came to this country and lived a short time at Crestline, Ohio, and then at Sandusky. At the latter place she was married to Louis Alberti. They continued their residence in Sandusky four years after their marriage and then came to Clyde. Here she has lived for fifty-three years. Mr. Alberti's death occurred eighteen years ago. Eight children blessed this union, four surviving to mourn the loss of a devoted mother.
They are Mrs. Joseph Lang of Bellevue, John P. Alberti of Toledo, Mrs. Nettie Bookmyer and Mrs. Louis Krebs of Clyde, together with thirteen grandchildren and one brother, Max Zipfel of Defiance.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's church Saturday morning at 9 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. A. Tennison. Interment will be made beside the body of her husband in McPherson cemetery.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Theresa Alberti, held at St. Mary's church Saturday morning, was largely attended. Those present from the town were: Mrs. Rose Binder, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Gabel, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wolf, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Beier, Fremont, Mr. and Mrs. John Bingle, Parkertown; Mrs. Anthony Westrick, Mrs. Baughman, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lang, Bellevue; Mr. Max Zipfel, Defiance; Mr. and Mrs. John Alberti, Mrs. Chris. Krebs, Toledo; Mrs. Diehls, Mrs. A. Strausmeyer, Gibsonburg; Mr. Bert Hock, Mrs. Katherine Waterman, Elmore; Miss Theresa Bookmyer, Sandusky.
