Jacob was the son of Jacob Riggleman and Julia Ann Borror. He married Anna Beatrice Newcom on Dec 25, 1893. They were the parents of John Randolph, Jesse Austin, Leslie Earl, Newcom Dale, and Ruby Margretta.

Denison Bulletin - Thursday , November 27th, 1941 - Jacob Randolph Riggleman, 79, a citizen of Crawford county for many years, passed away at his home in Deloit, Monday, Nov. 24, 1941, at 1:00 o'clock. He had been in failing health for a number of years.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist church in Deloit, and interment was made in the Deloit cemetery. The pall bearers were William Simon. Arthur Darling, Adelbert Winey, Pearl Lyman, John Dewitt and Marion Hutchinson.

Mr. Riggleman was born in Petersburg, Pendleton county, West Virginia, March 29, 1862. He was reared at home and attended the rural schools of his native county. October 15, 1883, he came to Denison and obtained employment as a farm hand. In 1885 he migrated to Colorado and engaged in ranching for three years. Returning to Crawford county at the end of that time he rented a 110-acre farm which he cultivated until 1890. During the first two years he kept house for himself; the third year he boarded and the fourth year he was married.

On Christmas, 1893, he was united in marriage with Anna Beatrice Newcom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Newcom, of Stockholm township. Mrs. Riggleman was the first white girl born in Stockholm township. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Riggleman, namely: John Randolph, Washington, D.C.; Jesse Austin, Los Angeles, Calif.; Leslie Earl and Newcom Dale, Stockholm township, and Ruby Margretta, the latter deceased.

After marriage Mr. and Mrs. Riggleman settled on a farm northwest of Deloit, a place to become known as "High View" farm, where Mr. Riggleman followed farming and breeding of purebred cattle. In later years the couple acquired the farm known as "Big Bend" farm nearer Deloit and lived there until they retired and moved into Deloit
