Vonley Wood, 73, a retired farmer of the Acton community in Taylor County, son of the late Burdette Wood and Myrtle Lou Miles Wood, was born in Taylor County May 22, 1914. He died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1987, at the Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia after an illness. He is survived by a brother and two sisters, Ancil Wood, Campbellsville, Mrs. Chester (Ola) Gabbart, Harrodsburg, and Mrs. Joe (Villa) McDonald, Streator, Ill.; several other relatives and many friends. The funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home by Bro. Philip Burnett. Burial was in the Gaddis Cemetery. Pallbearers were Carlos Bland, Sam E. Phillips, Almon Wise, Cleveland Minor, Harold Phillips, and Joe Pennington.
