Erika Haase Labott, 104, was born on July 24, 1904 in Stade, Germany. She was the daughter of the late Heinrich and Therese Haase.
She departed peacefully on April 20, 2009 at Courtland Terrace, Gastonia.
Erika was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Labott, sisters: Marie, Gertrude, Martha, Erna, Magdalene and brother Herbert.
Survivors include her daughters, Elaine Labott, Lorraine Dalpiaz and husband J.A. (Dal) of Gastonia, grandchildren: James Dalpiaz and wife Pamela, Cheryl Cherry and husband Philip of Gastonia, Robert Dalpiaz and wife Lorie of Easley, SC, David Popp and wife Elaine of Albert Lea, MN, Thomas Popp and wife Tracy of Salem, WI and Randall Popp and fiance' Denise of Burlington, WI, great grandchildren: Erika Lowery and husband Johnathan, Jordan and Caroline Dalpiaz, Kent, Maria and Bryant Cherry of Gastonia, Alex and Nicholas Dalpiaz of Easley, SC, Cody and Dustin Burns of Salem, WI and Erika Popp of WI. Also her wonderful, much loved and appreciated caregiver and friend, Sue Moss of Gastonia.
Erika was a volunteer at the Gaston Memorial Hospital Gift Shop. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Gastonia.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 25 at 11 a.m., officiated by Pastor Braxton East.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
